Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Here is some background information on Jon and Mike.

Jonathan loves walking over the Purbecks and New Forest and  has been part of a rambling group for years.  He likes walking the coastlines, landscapes, woodlands and National Trust Parks (Exmoor, New Forest, Snowdonia, Brecon Beacons, Lake District) and take on various challenges including extreme walks, in all kinds of weather conditions.   .

Jonathan took part in the Big Walk Challenge in 2013 raising lots of money for Dorset Blind Association - £4000.  He walked the entire Jurassic coastline (Exmouth to Hengistbury Head, Isle of Wight (round the Island) and Three Peaks Highest Mountain in UK. (Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike)

Jonathan who is now 47 years old, five years later on is training for Jurassic Coast Challenge (Ultra Challenge series) which involves walking 100km (63 miles) in two days – Whitecliff, Parkstone to Weymouth and onto Bridport.

Mike lived in Middlesex for 34 years near Bushy and Richmond park and enjoyed going for walks there. He moved down to Bournemouth 3 years ago and is enjoying exploring the area. After forming a good friendship with Jon, he has been on many amazing walks in the surrounding New Forest and Purbeck areas.

Mike did an Outdoor Adventurous Activities degree back in 2009 to 2012 where he went on many expeditions including a trip to Snowdonia, where he climbed Mount Snowdon and Tryffan.

Mike is going on regular walks with Jon to train especially for this 100km walk for this very good cause and is also weight training regularly to build strength.

Any donation towards our big walk is very much appreciated no matter how big or small. Mike and Jon are trying to raise £600 for Dorset Blind Association.

Thank you!
