Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Jacob's JustGiving page.

At the end of May Jacob is going to climb Mount Toubkal in Morocco, at 13,670 feet it's the highest mountain in North Africa, taking four days to reach the summit. Hopefully his endeavour will inspire you to support Jacob and help us raise some money for St. Gemma's Hospice in Leeds. His target is £1 for every foot he will climb!!

Some of you may already know Jacob's story, in 2019 his mum (my wife) was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Before we had a chance to breathe she was given the heart breaking news that she now had terminal cancer and in 2020 just two days after Christmas she passed away, aged 49. Thanks to the help and support from St. Gemma's Hospice we got to have our last Christmas together at home. Since Andrea's death St. Gemma's Hospice have always been there when needed for Jacob to support him and me with coming to terms with losing his mother when he was just 7 years old. Two years on they still provide workshops and outdoor pursuit days for him and other bereaved children in the Leeds area.

To date Jacob has raised over £100,000 for St. Gemma's Hospice and the RAF Benevolent Fund (He wants to be a pilot in the RAF when he's older). We would be ever so grateful if you could make a small contribution to spur Jacob on his adventure this year and whilst I know the cost of living crisis is affecting everyone, if you can't donate please share on any social media platform so someone else might donate.

Thank you #TeamJacob
