In April 2024, I will be taking part in The TCS London Marathon to raise money for MS-UK! 

This is my first marathon and before this I had only ever run 5k in lockdown🤪 At the beginning of 2023 I decided I would enter a 10k (which I completed in April) in the hopes I would get a place in the 2024 London marathon and here I am🙌🏼

For those of you who are close to me and my family, know that my Dad has had MS pretty much his entire life. He was diagnosed in 1974 (aged 17) but wasn’t told until he had a relapse 2 years later🤯

My Dad’s diagnosis was relapse remitting which meant he had a relapse every so often but it was manageable with medication. Recently, in 2022, his diagnosis changed to progressive which means his symptoms have and are worsening. 

Sport was always a huge part of our lives growing up, with Dad feeding us spoonfuls of cod liver oil before races (apparently it makes you run faster😂), taking me to hockey trials, watching netball matches and everything else in between. This is why I had to run the marathon, as well as to raise awareness of the disease and the MS-UK charity.

Multiple sclerosis (MS): is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of symptoms, including vision, arm and leg moment, sensation and balance. It's a lifelong condition that can cause serious disability.

MS-UK is a national charity dedicated to empowering people affected by multiple sclerosis to live happier and healthier lives. They work to improve the understanding of MS and provide support where it is needed most. Their services include a helpline, providing information and emotional support, online activities, information booklets and a bi-monthly magazine New Pathways.

I can’t do this alone. Firstly, I need your help to raise a minimum of £2000 for MS-UK and secondly, I’ll need your support to get me through the training and the actual event❤️
