I have never attempted any type of long distance running so taking part in the Reading Half-Marathon will be a major challenge. I have had numerous operations over the past ten years and suffer from oste-arthritis in my toes(hence the x-ray above showing the delightful pins in the Ettridge toes) and I am hoping they hold out!!.

When I entered the Reading Half-Marathon I felt I wanted to run for a cause very close to my heart. My Mum died of Breast Cancer when she was just 50. She was a very fit and healthy person who did everything possible to make everyone else's life better. Sadly she contracted Breast Cancer in February 1993 and died in the August of the same year. Therefore I really wanted to try and make a small difference to people who have/will suffer with this terrible condition.

So please dig very deep and donate now. I will be trying my best to make it round even if I have to crawl.
