Story

Hey everyone!

As some of you may know, I'm taking part in the Ironman UK on 1st August 2010 in Bolton. The event consists of:

- a 2.4 mile swim

- a 112 mile bike ride

- a 26.2 mile run

Training is well under way, but there is still a long way to go! Some of you may have been lucky enough to see me riding my bike in my blue skin- tight tri- suit aorund Bournemouth and Reading and some may have been lucky enough to see me fall off sideways as I try to unclip from my pedals at traffic lights.

I am aiming to raise £400 for Rotary International which helps many causes, but their primary contribution is to:

- The Leukaemia Research Fund

- Children's Hospices

- Marie Curie Cancer Care

For more information on their work please visit http://www.rotary.org/en/Pages/ridefault.aspx.

It is an ambitious goal but I'm confident that if you can dig deep and spare whatever you can then we can hit the £400 target!

As an incentive to donate there will be a small prize for the person who guesses the closest time that I finish the Ironman in. The person who was closest to my Reading Half Marathon time in 2009 received a bottle of whiskey! After you've donated, either put your guess as a comment next to your donation or put it on the Facebook group.

Thanks for taking the time to read my page and donate anything you can!
