Hello!

I am currently fundraising for Raleigh International and International Citizen Service (ICS), which bring people across the globe together to fight poverty and make a difference where it is needed most. At the end of June I will volunteer for just over two months on a development programme in Nicaragua, Central America. I’ll be working with volunteers and communities from Nicaragua on a water, health and sanitation project. In practice, that means learning about the problems communities are facing currently, working alongside them to plan improvements, and assisting with education, survey and physical work. ICS works with communities that have requested their help and it supports sustainable and long-term solutions for global issues. It is not volunteer tourism and I firmly believe in aims of this project. 

I need to raise at least £800 for the charity before I go abroad in the summer. Crucially, any money you donate does not go towards my flights or the administration of my placement; all those costs are already covered. Instead, the money is a donation direct to Raleigh so it can continue all its projects across the world.
