Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page for my Kilimanjaro trek in support of the charity Borne. Collectively we are seeking to raise £250,000 for the charity and my personal goal is to raise £10,000.

I’ve chosen to support this amazing cause after numerous conversations with not only KX members but personal friends about their challenges and heartache with both conception and pregnancy. These conversations coupled with the incredible work done by Borne to prevent disability and death in childbirth stuck a personal cord with me.

In the UK, more than 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely. Some 1.1 million babies die from the complications of pre-mature birth every year. That’s in addition to the 250,000 women who die during pregnancy each year. The research done by Borne and the Chelsea and Westminster Health Charity is quite literally lifesaving.

KX continue to support Professor Mark Johnson and his wonderful team at Borne but I felt I wanted to personally support their incredible work by taking on this challenge with “Team Green”.  At 5,895m tall, I am not underestimating the task of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro but I am looking forward to working with Will Greenwood and the rest of Team Green to achieve our united goal.

Thank you in advance for your support and be sure to keep up to date with my progress in preparing for the trek on the KX blog

A special thank you to KX for their generous donation of £10,000 towards the fundraising goal and support from the fitness, restaurant and spa team in my training for the trek.
