Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I know that some of you think that I am mad for entering into the London Marathon, and to be honest I am starting to feel that you are right after my first few training sessions! But ultimately I am putting myself through this for one very good reason.
It is not that for years now I have said that I would get fit, nor is it for the glory of being able to say that I have run the greatest marathon in the world (although both are nice little bonuses that I get by doing this!). No, the main reason for running this years marathon is to raise vital sponsorship money for a charity very close to my heart.
As some of you know my dad was diagnosed with a rare degenerative brain disease a few years ago called Cortico-Basel Degeneration. It has stolen from him the life that he should be enjoying and experiencing now after working so hard all of his life to provide for his family. Unfortunately though he is not alone. There are many people in the UK suffering from this, and similar degenerative diseases. The PSP Association helps patients and families experiencing such traumatic times, and also does vital work to fund research into the causes and possible cures for various degenerative brain conditions.
This is the real reason for running the 26.2 miles of the course on the 23rd April. All I need now is to raise as much money as I can to go to this worthy charity. Please dig deep and sponsor me online, every penny will count.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The PSP Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now, and then watch me drag myself around the course on the 23rd, which will be worth the sponsorship money itself!
Many thanks for your support.
James
