Story
I have been in the British Army for 29 years, in that time my weight has fluctuated from 110kgs, down to 78, back up to 106. It has gone up and down throughout my career as I have gone through phases of trying to keep fit and trying to avoid PT with each phase lasting about 6 months. Just under 2 years ago I decided that enough was enough and set my mind to getting fit and staying fit. I have got down to 81Kg and stayed there. Since September 2016, I have cut out alcohol completely, not eaten any fried food, less a couple of fried eggs. I have fought through numerous injuries to get myself fitter than I have ever been. I have run over 3500km in that time and now want to put this fitness to good use and complete one of the toughest races in the world a 250+Km Ultra Marathon across the Sahara Desert. I will run, walk, climb and craw but I will finish.
I know times are tough, but please, if you can help me get to my target of £8000.00 but donating what you can to help those who are unable to help themselves.
So far this year I have already completed the following:
Hannover 1/2 Marathon,
The Hermannslauf, 31.1km race along the the Detmold to Bielefeld ridge line.
Gelsenkirchen 1/2 marathon - with a PB of 1:49:42
Rhein-Ruhr Marathon - with a PB of 3:59:42
Hamburg 1/2 Marathon.
1 home made double ultra marathon
The Cologne Marathon
I intend to keep going with races throughout the year, along with plenty of other mad events to keep you entertained by my updates. culminating in the first week of December where I plan to run the Hermannslauf everyday for 7 days and let you all have a gamble on my daily/weekly time with the winner getting a nice prize. (my dirty running gear).
Please continue to support me and check back regularly to see what I have come up with next.
