Story
Frank Pilkington predicted big changes for me in 2010 and since by May all appeared quiet - the move to Amsterdam aside (which let's be honest is pretty small fry for me) - I decided to run a 10k..for charity no less. Sports and altruism have effectively triumphed over excess and retail therapy, I am very proud to say. I'm impressed that I actually put down the red wine and Vogues long enough to go out and replace my beloved Choos with a pair of NIke Air Max. My poor wee trotters have had a mighty shock but have done well to adapt to their new (much) less glamourous environment.
So now many miles, a twisted ankle, a grazed knee, sprained neck, not to mention countless blisters (frankly a whole lot of blood sweat and tears) later, I am (almost) ready to take on the challenge in Glasgow! I think this is where I'm supposed to wax lyrical about how much I'm looking forward to it...but I'm going to beg for your money instead :o)
Any contribution you make will be gratefully received by the British Heart Foundation (and my feet) whose research helps heart failure breakthrough. With the help of funded research there've been some real breakthroughs, especially the use of medicines called ACE inhibitors which help control high blood pressure and are particularly helpful to people recovering from a heart attack...
So... please dig deep and donate now. No contribution is too small - whatever I raise the Bank have pledged to double!
