Story
As many of you will know, I've already run one marathon this year to celebrate my 40th Birthday in January. It doesn't stop there though, I've got a club place in the London Marathon, thanks to Holmfirth Harriers, so I thought that I would take the opportunity to raise some funds for this local charity, the Forget-me-Not Trust in Huddersfield.
The West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust has been set up in order to provide care and support for children with life-limiting conditions, to children and families from the Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield areas of West Yorkshire.
The Trust is currently raising funds to build a house for respite, emergeny and end of life care, in Huddersfield. It will also provide services to children in their own homes as well as bereavement support to their families.
The Trust still needs to raise over £3 million in order to build the centre and is expecting that running costs will be over £1.5 million per year, so it still has a long way to go.
And it doesn't even stop there, because I have also committed to running 1000 miles during 2010 and I will be leaving my page open for the rest of the year so that I can raise further funds when I reach my target.
