Story
I am planning on doing the Moonlight Walk with a group of friends to help raise money for Hospice in the Weald. This charity is very close to my heart as they looked after my mother so well when she was terminally ill with cancer.
Please give generously as the Hospice runs purely from donations so everything counts!
I have enclosed some information from the Hospice in the Weald website:-
At Hospice in the Weald we are all committed to offering the very best care to our patients, their families and friends, and work hard to make sure your time with us is as comfortable as possible.
Our philosophy is to be a specialist provider of Palliative Care to our local community. Palliative Care is the total care of patients whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment. Control of pain, of other symptoms, and of psychological, social and spiritual problems is paramount. The goal of palliative care at our Hospice is the achievement of the best quality of life for patients and those important to them. This is offered in a professional environment where the wishes and needs of the patient are paramount.
We believe that Palliative Care affirms life, and regard dying as a normal process. We neither hasten nor postpone death - we aim to provide relief from distressing symptoms whilst integrating the psychological and spiritual aspects of care, offering support to families to help them cope with dignity during the patients' illness and in their own bereavement.
