On 7th August of this year, for the third year running, we will be doing a 12 hour marathon football tournament in order to raise money for a charity called Tackle Africa.

In case you are questioning how much exertion this 12 hour football marathon requires - it is estimated that each player runs about 30 miles that day!!!

The charity runs projects that combine football coaching and AIDS awareness throughout Africa. It is a very small charity and raises most of its money through this football marathon. Last year we managed to raise a very creditable £2200, we are, however, convinced that we can raise more this year. The money goes towards funding future projects.

Two years ago, one of our team, Simon, went to Kenya on one of Tackle Africa's projects. It was an experience of a lifetime with a lot more to tell than it is possible to write here. It is certainly an opportunity he would recommend to anyone else and one which he sincerely hopes he will be able to repeat again. Please look at the short summary video on this page.
