PLAYTEX MOONWALK 2007
19th May 2007
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
I'm doing yet another Daft Charity thing to help raise money for Breakthrough for Breast Cancer. This time it involves walking 13.5 miles through central London in the middle of the night with a hand decorated bra on...and you know i'm rubbish at Arts & Crafts!
Yes, i've been lucky enough to have a place confirmed for the Playtex Moonwalk 2007. And i'm doing it with Mum who I admire so much as she would have just gone through Major Surgery a few months before hand. We will be doing this charity walk at Midnight on the 19th May 2007
Most of you know how passionate I am in regards to Cancer Charities, particularly Breast Cancer and cancer of the oesphogus (Even if I cant spell it). The reason is my inspirational mother. She has beaten Breast Cancer not once, but Twice. She's fought MRSA and is now beating the cancer of the oesphogus off with a stick. She is a fighter and I hope I can be as strong as that - if someone can beat it she can. Not many people can crack jokes about 20 mins after finding out now can they?
In January 2007 after 3 months of Chemo, she will be having her stomach and possibly her gullet removed to get rid of this cancer. Yet she is still willing to keep me company on the walk round London! (Probably to make sure I dont cheat...lets face it, i'm not the most sporty of people am I?) She will also have a page that i'll link to on here...as soon as I set it up (She might keep beating cancer, but she cant work a computer...Sorry mum!! )
Anyway - here's your bit....
I WANT YOUR MONEY!!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Walk The Walk Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support - and you know I love your witty comments!!!!
UPDATE 14/02/2007 Thank you for all your support, and especially sponsorship - i really appreciate it! We now have the added incentive of Hom in his pants if you dig EVEN DEEPER! (And who wouldnt want to see that??)
UPDATE 12/03/2007 8 weeks after going into hospital, mum is now OUT! Very very pleased! Doesnt look like she'll do the walk now as she's still very weak after the tribulations of the last few months, but she'll be there to support. So keep digging out the moolar for me thank you please!
UPDATE 16/05/2007 Ok, the walk is in 3 days and i'm not at my best physical shape for it, i must admit. I am now doing the walk with my mum's friend Helen who is a fitness instructor as well as a personal trainer, so I will be DRAGGED round london if it means finishing! The Bra making...its in progress and its not going well. At All. It was someone's bright idea to put Liquorice Allsorts on it. And I can't sew. My flatmate had to take it off me within an hour of starting it due to me throwing a 5 year old strop over the fact I am rubbish at sewing and the bra doesn't look how I thought it would look! Oh well, onwards and upwards!! Fingers crossed for me!!!!
