Fundraising for Venice In Peril Fund
Story
Venice, to me, is one of the most captivating places on earth. I totally fell in love with the city when I visited in the spring of 2006, and have been desperately wanting to return ever since. So, when offered the opportunity to run a marathon there, to raise money for the restoration and preservation of Venice's treasured buildings, sculptures and artworks, I couldn't possibly resist. I believe it is essential to protect this beautiful and unique place, so that future generations can experience the same thrill and excitement as I did when I ventured down the Grand Canal for the first time.
Please kindly sponsor me so I can raise as much money as possible for Venice in Peril, the British Committee for the Preservation of Venice, which funds restoration projects, research initiatives and "[lobbies] for the long-term defence of the city, both as a monument and a living community".
