Event: Standing Together Against Domestic Violence - 2010 The 112, on 8 May 2010
We manage the response to domestic abuse to save lives and support abuse survivors

Story

I have always believed in donating money to these events rather than actively participating, I still do, so am not too sure what's going on here!  I have recently discovered the joy of exercising and with life not quite hectic enough I decided to take up this challenge...hmm.  Anyway, so here I am, cycling a minimum of 40 miles as part of a 3 man team completing a total 112 miles in a route around Windsor and Oxford on May 8th.  Having just purchased a pink fluorescent hi-vis tabard I am feeling very prepared!

Domestic Violence is a serious and high volume crime which destroys families and damages society.  112 is the number of women who die each year as a result of domestic violence. Standing Together trains all agencies to deal with domestic violence effecively and consults with survivors to inform improvements in services.  Standing Together influences national policy and practive, providing safer options for women and their children and holding perpetrators accountable.
