Story

As most of our loved ones will know, Erin had a turbulent start to this life, showing her strength and determination from the moment she was born! Just before Erin turned one, we ran a half marathon to raise as much money as possible for the amazing Liverpool Women’s Charity who saved her life, along with ensuring ours as a family carried on. We managed to raise a whopping £2096,25 for the hospital to continue to provide life changing support to children and families like ours.

In June 2022 , Erin  was diagnosed with spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy. This type of cerebral palsy develops after damage occurs to the part of the brain’s hemisphere that controls movement. Cerebral palsy affects movement, muscle tone, balance, and posture. Therefore, physiotherapy is crucial in supporting those affected, to promote positive movement, independence and development.

Any donation, big or small would be so greatly appreciated! We can never thank the staff at COCH enough for the continuous care and support they provide to Erin and all the other children in the North West. With the funds raised the department would love to purchase their very own Galileo Vibrating Plate to provide vibration therapy to children with Cerebral Palsy. Vibration therapy can improve muscle tone, reduce coordination deficit and positively affect gross motor skills; crucial for children with Cerebral Palsy.
