If you’ve spent more than 5 minutes with me you’ll know my story pretty well.  I volunteer as a dog walker at Bleakholt a couple of times a week. Whilst it is great to be able to help make sure all the dogs get walked, I can’t pretend it is entirely selfless. I love the time I spend up there, even in the worst weather, with animals who are always happy to see you and can cheer up even the dullest of days. 

It’s not just dogs though.  The sanctuary takes in cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, sometimes even hamsters and degus, and tries to find new loving homes for them.  If that isn’t enough, there are also the permanent residents; donkeys, horses, pigs, goats, chickens, ducks and a pair of rare breed sheep!  That’s quite a hefty food bill.

I wanted to give a bit more than my time, my unwanted goods (for the charity shops) and my cakes (in the cafe), so I’ve decided to do a tandem parachute jump to raise some much needed funds. Don’t worry, I won’t be in charge of the parachute! And I’m really good at falling so I figure I can do this.
