Story

Everyone knows how much I love softball. So I'm pushing my love for the game by taking part in the biggest endurance challenge ever in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record for the longest softball game played. How? By playing 5 whole days of softball. That's 120 hours! It's definitely going to be a challenge...

My friend and teammate lost a young family member to cancer last year, and this event is support her and her family to raise money for Nottingham University Hospitals Charity. I am attempting to raise a minimum of £300, so if you are able to donate anything in support, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Please see Jay's story below:

To help raise money we are attempting a Guinness World Record for the Longest Softball Marathon. See the link below to watch a heartfelt story told by Jay's family members and the Softball team taking part.

Jay Oxley was a young lad from Keyworth, Nottingham who got diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin‘s Lymphoma and battled with cancer for a year. After his bone marrow transplant, there were complications and sadly he passed away on 9/1/2017. We would like to raise money in his memory to help other children and their families going through a similar journey. The Charity the money is going towards is Nottingham Hospitals Charity - Registration Number 1165397. We will be closely involved with the charity to help decide where the money is spent. It will go towards any equipment needed at ward E39 where Jay was treated. Also it will contribute to individuals on the ward and their families in any way that can help them along their difficult journey.
