Story
We both do lots of voluntary work at West London Synagogue, a community centre by Marble Arch in Central London, and many strands of our work fall within the ERETZ educational and cultural programme there - this is what we're fundraising for.
One of our key projects is Peace of Mind. It's an amazing charitable project, which provides nine months of individual therapy, group therapy, and support to young people who are IDF veterans. Their experiences have left them with post traumatic stress disorder, a mental health condition which undermines their relationships with family and friends, and their careers.
We fundraise each year to cover the cost of putting an entire unit of 20 young people through the programme. Often they are commandos or Navy seals and they have all served their country well. Each year, we organise a week of intensive therapy in London mid way through the 9 month programme for a group like this, arranging home hospitality, social events, hearty meals, and much more.
Our access to funds has become tighter, and we would really appreciate your helping us turn around the futures of these young people. The programme has almost a 100% success rate. Their family and friends give us the most remarkable feedback - the therapy really works. It turns lives around.
If Peace of Mind does not appeal, we will use your donation to support our wider charitable work under the ERETZ banner.
