Story

Hello friends & family,

on Saturday 30th September I will be joining a few others to open water swim across a muddy lake on Exmoor. This carefree, foolish act is to raise  your awareness and hopefully  some cash to support a displaced Syrian family soon to be located in my local village of Georgeham here in Devon.

The Exmoor Swim is a large event with over 500 entrants speedily swimming across Wimbleball Lake. I will most certainly be at the back of the pack, and hope there will be fellow breast stroke / back stroke swimmers to join me. Front crawl is not a reality for me ! Swamp monster photos of me will be circulated after the event for your entertainment.

Any support you can spare would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you 🤗

About the campaign

We are raising money to support a displaced Syrian family to resettle in Georgeham and find a place of safety. The Georgeham Community Sponsorship Scheme is supported by the Pickwell Foundation.

About the charity

We are a group of local volunteers, working together to welcome a refugee family into our community. Our aim is to provide the type of friendship and practical support that anyone would hope to have if they were forced, under such circumstances, to start over in a new and unfamiliar place.
