Story
Kith & Kids is a charity that supports young people with disabilities and their families. They run all kinds of events and services, including regular weekend clubs, summer camps, non-residential projects in the school holidays, friendship schemes and loads more. You can read more about K&K and what they do on their website.
I (Jo) started volunteering with K&K on their 2010 summer camp, which was an amazing experience, and since then I have been to several of the weekend clubs and on some evenings out with the adult group and taken part in the Christmas project week. K&K really is a fantastic charity - they provide so many opportunities for their members to get involved in things that they wouldn't otherwise have the chance to do, as well as supporting their families. From the small involvement I have had so far it is easy to see what a huge difference the organisation makes to people's lives.
When Matt & I were thinking about wedding lists we decided that, although we do need some of the traditional things like towels and plates and have set up a list for those, we would also like to try and raise some money for Kith & Kids, to help them continue the fantastic work they are doing.
Thanks!
Jo & Matt
