Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year, both myself and the Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust are turning 60 years of age.  Instead of receiving presents, I thought it would be nice to mark my 'great age' by asking for donations to my local Wildlife Trust, and in particular, to the Nature Memories Cafe at BBOWT's Nature Discovery Centre in Thatcham, Berks.

The Nature Memories Cafe is held every Monday morning, even on most bank holidays.   Local people living with dementia, together with their partners or carers, are able to come and enjoy tea, coffee and home baked cakes in a room overlooking the beautiful nature reserve and lake.  Each week there is a chance to take part in a nature inspired craft activity, take a walk and feed the ducks, or just relax and chat with new-found friends who understand.

This cafe has been running for over two years now, led by BBOWT staff and volunteers and funded by generous donations from individuals and businesses.  I would love to help this wonderful, vital project to continue - if you can help by donating some of your hard earned cash then it will help me have a very happy birthday, but better still, it will help local people to live well with dementia.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
