Fundraising for PROMPT Maternity Foundation
Story
The PROMPT Maternity Foundation is a Bristol based charity who’s aims are to reduce preventable harm to mothers and their babies through the provision of
PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training (PROMPT) to improve maternal and neonatal birth outcomes within the UK and internationally.
The PROMPT team is a multi professional group of obstetricians, midwives and anaesthetists who strive to make childbirth safer through training, education and research.
PROMPT training has been introduced to low resource countries and in Zimbabwe it has been reported since the introduction of PROMPT, in 4 maternity units, there has been a reduction of in maternal deaths and over the past 2 years more than 840 maternity staff have received PROMPT training. To continue supporting ongoing training within Zimbabwe further funding is needed to achieve this.
