I am going to walk the length of the Chesterfield canal on Easter Sunday 5/4/2015. The canal is 46 miles long and we aims to complete the challenge in one day (hopefully around 15/16 hours).  The canal starts in Chesterfield town centre in Derbyshire and finishes in East stockwith which is near Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. During the walk we will go through 4 different counties Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

I wanted to do this challenge in memory of my dad who sadly passed away in October last year. We enjoyed many walks down the canal and he always said that he wanted us to walk from one end to the other. Unfortunately he will not be able to achieve this now but myself and a group of friends will do this with him at the forefront of our minds and hope to raise a little money for some good causes along the way.

The group we have confirmed so far are Rebecca Wilson, Paddy Jones, Anthony Roddis, Neil Froggatt, Oli Bate,  Mark Parkinson and Ali McCurrach.
