Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Thursday 19 November I will join 30 other good people and fly to Merida in Mexico to do my 12th overseas cycle ride for charity. We will be cycling 300 miles across the Yucatan Peninsula to Tulum over the course of six days and in temperatures in the high 80's.
I am cycling to raise funds for St Raphael's Hospice in Cheam, Surrey. St Raphael's is a wonderful place where people suffering from terminal illness can spend their last weeks or days in relative comfort, free from pain, being cared for by dedicated, angelic staff. The Hospice is aptly named after St Raphael, one of the seven archangels!
It costs about £10,000 per day to run the Hospice, £3.6m per year, and the NHS gives about £1m per year towards this total. The huge gap has to be bridged by voluntary donations, fund raising events etc. I would be extremely grateful, as would the staff and patients of the Hospice, if you would support me on the cycle ride by donating as much as you can afford, (and then perhaps a bit more? please) and when you do, please tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK taxpayer. For each pound that you so generously donate, the Hospice will receive a further 28p from the Government. Believe me, these 28p's soon add up. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. It really is appreciated.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
