Story

Sadly, after battling long and hard, my dad passed away last year to cancer. We thought he had won but this was not the case. He was given 2 years to live; he survived 4 days. I knew very little about this disease before learning for myself how debilitating and unforgiving it is, not only to the victim, but also to their family and friends.  The care and support he received from the NHS during this time was incredible and I was humbled by the sincere and genuine efforts of all the people involved. However, it became clear to me that more money is needed to battle this disease head-on, from research through to palliative care. Witnessing the impact throat cancer can have has mobilised me to try and do something about it. I can’t cure cancer but hopefully I can help those who can. Thank you for reading.
