£100 will buy you 45 minutes of aviation fuel £500 will buy you one hours flying time Costs £1,500 to £2,000 each mission, depending on the mission (This averages out at £1,750 per mission) Always flies with 1 pilot, 1 doctor & 1 paramedic on all missions We flew 891  Missions in 2007,  796 in 2008  and 890 in 2009 & 191 in 2010 (As of the 5^th April) We fly an average of 2-3 missions per day Almost entirely funded by the people of Kent All money raised for the Kent Air Ambulance comes from the people of There are 1.7 million people living in , so if everyone gave just £1 a year we would not have to fundraise From our base in Marden we can fly to the furthest part of the county in 17 minutes Wherever we land we are never more than 7 minutes away from a receiving A&E Hospital or a maximum of 38 minutes from the regional trauma centre in London Helicopter would cost £5 million to buy (depending on the current $ exchange rate) so we lease it Kent Air Ambulance was started in 1989 We have flown over 14,000 missions since we first began Helicopter is an MD902 Explorer There are 18 Air Ambulance Charities in There is more motorway in than almost any other county except Warwickshire Available to every person living, working and travelling through the county each day We now have 2 helicopters (1 & 1 Surrey/Sussex) so costs have doubled to £3.4 million pounds per year to cover both. All funds for each of the counties are met by the people of the individual counties.
