I am a currently serving Soldier, Father and Grandfather and have been on my share of Operational deployments over the span of my 21 year career. Fortunately i have returned from each tour relatively unscathed and intact, which is more than can be said unfortunately for far too many service personnel.

Up until recently I was unaware, as a lot are, of the Forces Children's Trust (FCT) and the very valuable work it does with the innocent casualties of conflict, namely the children left behind when our service men and women pay the ultimate price in the servitude of Queen and country. My contribution to this very worthwhile cause will be to attempt something that I have never thought I was capable of and to run 100 miles from Colchester, through London, to end up in Camberley town centre, hopefully within 36 hours, but will keep going for as long as it takes. Those that know me will know that I have had a few serious injury problems in the past which makes this a particular challenge for me.

I would also like to invite anyone to challenge themselves by joining me on the journey, whether it be for a mile, 5, 10, 20 or more.

Ultimately, whether physically or through encouragement, every bit of support will be greatly appreciated. If you can spare a couple of quid, then please donate as much as you are able.
