Story

I have the honor to run this London Marathon in memory of my grandfather  - A.R. "Bob" Mills - who won this race in 1921. He was also national British Marathon champion for three years and was on the English Olympic marathon team. Despite surviving being in the Scottish Horse and Camel Corp in World War I, he fell victim to stomach cancer. Similarly, my father was a Lancaster pilot in WWII at 18 and an instructor at 21. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. He too died prematurely from stomach cancer. While I do not possess the running ability or the bravery of my forefathers, I want to lend my efforts to finding a cure of the disease that shortened the lives of these brave men. Your support in this cause will be greatly appreciated.
