Hey all,

So, basically I've been roped into a ridiculous challenge, which involves a team of people from Harrogate - of various abilities, I might add! - lifting a combined total of one million kilos in a 24 hour period.

There is one reason and one reason only that I agreed to do this, and that's to help raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research, a great charity who I have had extremely positive experiences with before. They do very important work (goes without saying really) and I wanted to do my bit basically.

The other stuff about lifting all that weight I haven't really looked at yet (and to be honest, I don't intend to - it's not really something you can prepare yourself for is it?!). But, for those who have seen my gradual weight gain over the past five years on Sky Sports this may be a voyeuristic opportunity for you all to watch a man suffer. 

So I appeal to your mischievous side when I say please support me, the challenge and a great charity who do wonderful work.

And we WILL do it - I promise.
