Story
To mark the occasion of my Bar Mitzvah, I am undertaking a
sponsored walk that links various synagogues in North London. The walk is between 11-12 miles long and starts at Edgware Reform and ends at Sha'arei Tsedek in Whetstone, taking in Hendon Reform, Alyth and Finchley Reform along the way.
I am lucky to be able to live my life never having to worry about having a roof over my head. Others are not so fortunate and I am undertaking this walk (supported by my parents and brother) in support of Together in Barnet.
Together in Barnet's aim is to tackle homelessness in the London Borough of Barnet (www.togetherinbarnet.org). The charity runs a night shelter within the local community to house rough sleepers from October to March each year. Together in Barnet works closely with the day centre, Homeless Action in Barnet, to provide for the needs of the most vulnerable in the Barnet community.
I am very proud that my synagogue - Finchley Reform - (alongside the others that we will be walking to) plays a key role in providing a much needed shelter through the winter months and particularly during Christmas week.
My parents have agreed to double any money that I raise,
so please dig deeply!
