Story

On Sunday the 04/04/2015 me and my 2 brothers, Anthony and Ian will be walking/running over 175miles in 6 days in memory of our father and to support Hayward House at the Nottingham City Hospital. We will be starting at St Bees on the west coast and walking through the Lake District, the North Yorkshire Moors ending up in Robin Hoods Bay near Whitby. We will be carrying everything we need on our backs and mainly camping on route with an occasional youth hostel stop off and painkillers!!!!
Follow our blog for updates during our trek at: http://c2cyomp.blogspot.co.uk

The charity we are supporting is Hayward house;

Hayward House is a specialist palliative care cancer unit in the grounds of the City Hospital. It provides high quality care centered on the needs of patients and their families. Its aim is to enrich the quality of life through the skills of an experienced and caring team. Hayward House offers palliative care from diagnosis, through the interim periods of advancing disease, up to and including end of life care. Patients’ pain and other symptoms are addressed; so too are emotional, spiritual and social problems of both patients and their families. A bereavement/counseling service is also provided. (Taken from their website)

Hayward house was a special place and you can really see why donations are needed as the care and compassion towards patients and families are next to none and the facilities are brilliant however, they rely on donations and this is why I feel so strongly about raising money for this area of the City hospital

 In April 2013 James Greentree lost his battle with bowel cancer at the age of 69. James was an ex scout then Royal Marine serving in Borneo and Northern Ireland. He was a fantastic dad and a true friend to us who will be truly missed. Walking and the outdoors were our dad’s escape from the world and he never got to walk Wainwrights Coast 2 Coast.
