Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Julie and Marks JustGiving page.

We have chosen the British Thyroid Foundation since Julie's daughter Natalie was recently diagnosed with Graves Disease. Natalie having only recently been diagnosed, has been seen by a thyroid specialist and is at this time taking 14 tablets a day, 6 beta blockers and 8 other tablets to quickly reduce the toxins in her blood.  It could take up to 6 months to get the toxin levels in her blood to a  level the specialist is happy with, so then can they start looking a Natalies options for treating the Graves disease.

Having now read up on many websites and spoken to friends and family we did not realise how common thyroid problems were especially in women so we have decided to our bit. We were not planning to collect any sponsorship money but as this is the only marathon Julie at this time plans to attempt, Mark will of course do lots more as he enjoys pain! Everybody we have come into contact to help Natalie have been so great it is our little thank you to give something back.
