The 5 ways to wellbeing are:

Good Mental Health and wellbeing is vitally important for all. We need to look after both our physical and mental health and at certain times in people’s lives they may need to reach out for help for one or both of these. 

I’m walking along the A6 , from Brunswick Road Car Park in Penrith to Austin Friars School , Carlisle in memory of our Bus Driver . 

The distance is 39.4 miles and I hope to complete this all in one day.  

I plan to complete the outward journey on my own and will then be joined by family and friends on the return to Penrith . All money raised will stay in Carlisle and Eden to help those who need mental health and well-being support. 

£25 helps to train a new volunteer in call handling and face to face support in The Lighthouse. £ 100 helps to subsidise places on Mental Health First Aid Courses. 

Here a few things Carlisle and Eden Mind  does in our community ......

• They answer over 200 calls a month
• They have trained 2250 14-15 year olds in peer support 
• They have trained over 200 people in Mental Health First Aid 
• They are currently running a “Share a Smile” project with local secondary schools
