On the 20th May I am going to be running the Marathonas - Athens marathon route, a steep and mountainous 42km. 10km is the furthest I have ever run so it feels and seems almost impossible at this point, less than 3 months before the event. It will be a challenge to say the least but fortunately I will be running it with an incredible team, the Mazi Team and together we will be running to raise money for the financial support of the Mazi residents.

Mazi Housing Project is one of the only providers of housing in Athens for displaced single young men. It is a program of accommodation, material and social support, providing safety and a stepping stone that gives residents the time, space and opportunity to move on to the next chapter in their lives. 

We will be running to raise money to cover one of the most important parts of our budget, financial support. Mazi provides financial support to each resident throughout the project (if they don’t or cannot access state or UN support). Each resident receives 10 euros each week, this is a humble amount, but it provides some financial agency and the ability to participate everyday, normal economic life in Greece, whether this means buying a cup of coffee, travelling to services or saving for the future.
