Havering Mind is such a wonderful charity supporting people and their families who have mental health needs.  Unfortunately Mental Health issues are still a taboo subject and this needs to end.  

Why did I personally choose this charity?  My ex husband had depression, schizophrenia and was suicidal and my eldest daughter also suffers from depression and has self harmed in the past.  It is very hard to talk about and I wasn't the sufferer but even as a wife/parent it was very difficult not knowing what to do or where to get support.  Havering Mind gives support not only to the sufferer but to the whole family. They have mentoring, groups, befriending service and support all ages after all mental health can affect anyone at any age.
