Story
Today three people in the UK will have an accident that will result in a spinal cord injury. They will become permanently paralysed, losing some or most of their bodily movement and will suffer dysfunction to many internal organs. A spinal cord injury can happen to anybody, at any time and in any place.
The Back-Up Trust transforms the lives of individuals with spinal cord injury. Through running a variety of services it encourages individuals to come to terms with their injury and to realise their full potential in life.
Recently I volunteered as a carer for the Back up Trust on a multi- activity course. I had the opportunity to see firsthand the benefit and the hard work carried out by the trust. Since returning home from the course i have felt passionately about doing something to fundraise for the Back up Trust. The trust receives no government funding and relies on charitable donations to operate.
On the course I did lots of activities that brought me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to my limits. With help, on the course I challenged my fear of heights. Therefore to show the valuable lesson Back up has taught me, I am going to fundraise by doing a tandem Skydive! This scares the hell out of me!!! But it is a well worthy cause. For moral support I have managed to rope Paul in to do it too. It will take place in Netheravon, just outside of Salisbury, near the end of November (Weather permitting)
Please, if you can sponsor us, we would be very grateful . All of what we raise will go directly to the Back Up Trust. Thank you for taking the time to look at our page x x x
