I had never heard of The Sick Childrens Trust until my Grandson Kai was born  at just 24 weeks gestation weighing a tiny 680 grams on 19/11/2012.

The Sick Childrens trust made it possible for my daughter, her partner and myself to be with my grandson Kai when he was seriously ill in Great Ormond Street intensive care unit.

They gave us a room to stay in one of their houses near to the hospital. There were other parents and families staying at the house so there was always some one to talk to who knew what you were going through.

The house was like a home from home and I realy dont know what we would have done without it.

The Sick Childrens Trust rely totally on funraising and donations. It costs  The Charity around £25 per night per room. Also they supply clean bedding, toiletries and kitchen facilities ect.

The Sick Childrens Trust is the kind of charity you dont hear about until you or someone you know has a very sick child.

Funding is needed to keep these houses open and maybe even open some more as not all parents are lucky enough to be able to stay at one of these houses as there just arnt enough of them to accomodate all parents and families of very sick children.
