Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
**UPDATE _ I have met my target with a 13km walk on my birthday :). Many thanks to every one who has supported me!
I was diagnosed with Atrial Tachycardia, a rare form of SVT, when I was 10. As my SVT was incessant, I was put on anti-arrhythmic drugs to regulate my heart rate. I had 2 unsuccessful attempts at a heart ablation in 2017 & 2020 followed by an ablation in July 2020 at the John Radcliffe Hospital which has led to me now being drug free :). My cardiologist said I had a rare form of AT which explained why it proved so tricky. It's been 4.5 months now and things look promising, of course only time will tell. I've had a lot of medical kit inserted into my groins in a short period of time so it's been a long road back to recovery but now that I'm actively regaining my fitness, this fundraising for a cause so dear to me, will help motivate me to go that extra kilometre! I'm targeting for this to happen by my 18th Birthday on the 21st Feb 2021. I will do something everyday. I'll measure the distance I cover and will update this page with my progress.
The Arrhythmia Alliance do great work helping people who suffer for an irregular heart beat and they helped me and my family when we were deciding what to do next after my second unsuccessful ablation. I'm really excited about the prospect of helping them as they support others who are experiencing heart rhythm problems, especially other teenagers like me. I'd be very grateful for your support but I totally understand these are hard and unusual times.
