Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Some might say that this may be an early mid-life crisis, or possibly a late burst in adolescent rebellion, but for whatever reason, over the next few weeks I will be cycling around Ireland, trying to stick to the coast as much as possible. I will be starting off from Belfast on the 16th of June, travelling anti-clockwise around the coast, arriving back in Belfast just over three weeks and 1,800 miles later.

I am raising funds for the Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide and Self Harm. This is a Belfast based charity that provides support for those affect by suicide, attempted suicide and self harm. Since its inception four years ago it has provided many people with services such as the “call in” centre for listening, therapy and training, and also home-visits to affected households. On average around 250 people commit suicide every year in Northern Ireland and we have one of the highest rates of youth suicide in Europe. It’s funding is almost wholly dependent on charitable contributions, and the money raised would go directly towards helping those who need it and providing much needed improvement to their facilities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate.
