Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

During a rare and inexplicable health kick Rory and I decided to sign up for the 'Royal Marines Commando Challenge'. At first we were imagining a gentle run through unspoiled military land in Exeter, perhaps the odd cargo net thrown in for good measure.

Only after we had signed up did we bother to look at the website, and discovered that the 'Commando Challenge' did in fact consist of a 3km run followed by a 4km assault course through mud, pot holes and rivers culminating in a 3km sprint to the finish. This is all undertake in the freezing British October weather.

I decided that in order to justify this intense self inflicted physical abuse, I would set up this Just Giving to try and raise money for the Commando Challenge's chosen charity 'The Devon Air Ambulance Trust'.

The DAAT is a charity which raises the funds to keep 2 emergency Air Ambulances flying in the Devonshire area, and in order to keep both helicopters airborne the charity must raise in the region of £4 million pounds every year. Please take a look at their website for more information http://www.daat.org/the-charity-history/

Now I'm sure you are wondering what is in this for you apart from the knowledge that your money is going to a worthwhile and fantastic charity? I can re-assure you all in the fact that there will be plenty of mud caked photos of myself and Rory (mostly Rory) for you all to snigger at for many days after.

Please dig deep, and wish us luck!
