Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

WE DID IT!!!

On 3rd October 2010, Sally Klenerman, Helen Roskell, Kate Venables and Megan Washington competed as 'The Frenzies' in the St James's Place Foundation Triathlon in St Albans.  Thankfully, the rain held off until we had all completed the event.  The Frenzies not only completed the event but surprised ourselves by being in the medals!  The team came 6th out of 44 and were the first all girls team over the line.  Megan did us proud by winning the 41+ (yes, there is an advantage to being over 40!) women's category in 1hour & 13 minutes.  Kate and Sally were not far behind finishing 2nd and 3rd in the same category.  Helen, the spring chicken of the team, did equally well in the 31-40 category.  More detailed results can be found at www.sprinttriathlon.org

After the race and before the prize giving, we attended a presentation given by Hope and Homes for Children.  This was powerful and sobering and quickly took the pain away from the triathlon that we had just completed.  We are all delighted that you have helped us to raise funds for such an invaluable charity that supports orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children in Central and Eastern Europe and Africa. For more information, see www.hopesandhomes.org

We have all been very touched by your support and we are hopeful that we will have reached our fundraising target of £2,000 in the next couple of weeks.

Many thanks again from Sally, Helen, Kate & Megan xxxx.

Orphanages do not protect children. They harm them. We are working towards a day when every child can grow up in a loving family. There are millions of children across the world confined to loveless orphanages. Over 80% of them are not orphans. It doesn’t have to be this way.
