This is a desperately sad time for us all. It would give us great comfort to know that we can all help to raise money for this local charity so that others going through a similar situation can receive the help that they will need. Mental health is very underfunded in Cumbria. Male suicide rates across the UK in middle aged men is rapidly increasing and is particularly high in Cumbria. It is sad to think that Cumbria lacks the resources it needs to tackle this worrying statistic.

Jon had been suffering with depression for the last couple of years. He was trying so hard to help himself. He had recently bought a Mountain Bike and had said to us that when he was riding his bike it was the best medicine ever, he said 'it was better than 3 months worth of anti depressants' . He was planning on returning to work too in the next couple of weeks.

He had the love and support of his close family but tragically for Jon no matter how much love and support we gave him Jon could not escape his demons.

As a family we are so desperately sad but we have the comfort knowing that he can now rest in peace. Jon will continue to live on is his beautiful daughters that I am sure he will be very proud of. I will do my upmost to keep his memory alive for the sake of Amelie and Poppy. 

We are all so comforted to know that many of you were so fond of Jon and are thinking of us at this such sad time.
