Many months ago I foolishly suggested a group of friends enter the Royal Parks Half Marathon - and somehow I was the only one who got a place so have been training alone for the event on Sunday 12th!

Although I enjoy running, it's my first ever half marathon and is going to be a genuine challenge for me.  I am feeling quite nervous, but hope that knowing I am running for a good cause will help maintain my motivation levels.

For those of you who don't think a half marathon is a tough enough challenge, I have also taken on something even tougher alongside this: I have given up all alcohol for a month ahead of the race!  As I write this I have 9 more days to go...
