Story
Saying as I’m not doing the Great North Run this year with the rest of my family, I have decided to participate in a 15 mile walk from the Stadium of Light, Sunderland, to St. James Park, Newcastle, with my family on the 30th June 2019. We are taking part in this event to support The Charlie and Carter Foundation; this is a charity in which provides financial support to parents and families, who’s children are suffering from life-threatening, terminal conditions and are in need of 24-hour care.
If you have the time, please read up on the full story behind the charity and how supportive they are to families in need. There are a number of web pages set up with all of the information on the charity. As many of you are probably aware, the charity has raised a significant amount of money and have provided families with a lot of support during tough times.
The Charlie and Carter Foundation was originally known as The Charlie Cookson Foundation, which was set up by his parents, Chris and Sarah Cookson, in memory of their son Charlie, who sadly passed away in October 2013. The charity was then renamed due to the tragic loss of their second son, Carter, in January 2019, who they were unfortunately unable to find a heart for. My Dad works with the Dad of Charlie and Carter and we all agree that no parent/family should ever have to face the heartbreak that they have faced over the years.
Any donations, no matter how big or small, will be massively appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
