Story
Dan and I are walking 26.2 miles again this year for Acacia Family Support. This year we will be walking in memory of someone very dear to the heart of Acacia, Becky Plummer, who died suddenly this year. Becky and her husband Lee used our service and went onto raise awareness and bring hope and comfort to new families.
We're taking on this challenge because we know how much of a difference the money we raise will make to Acacia, and the families they support. 1 in 5 new mums suffer with poor mental health and this has more than doubled during the Covid pandemic. Acacia helps new mums and dads through this journey of recovery.... "Acacia restored my hope for life and future. I felt better after every befriending session. Continuous care, love and support from the team is phenomenal. I am forever grateful for the support I received."
As parents of twins we too found parenting pretty tough (as you can see from the swimming photo we could barely keep our heads above water!). Now they're grown up and finished their first year of school, we want to raise as much money as possible so Acacia can support more parents who felt as we did, or sadly as in too many cases much worse with a lot less support.
There is no pressure to sponsor and please only do so if you feel financially able. Every penny you donate will help more families get the help they need.
Thank you so much for supporting us in our challenge.
May you Rest In Peace now Becky xxx
