Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We have foolishly signed up to run a marathon - in Mumbai! And we really need as much encouragement as possible, and that's where you come in... We're doing the hard bit - running 26 miles around Mumbai - all we are asking of you is to donate as much as you can afford to help us reach our target of £2,000.
We're raising money for Sightsavers International, one of the world's leading development organisations working to eliminate avoidable blindness, and supporting blind people through education, rehabilitation and training. We have both worked for Sightsavers for the last three years, and between us have been fortunate to travel to India and West Africa to visit our partners and projects, and meet some of the beneficiaries of our work. Meeting the people who restore sight, or provide training to blind people is inspirational - but meeting the people who have benefitted from sight-saving cataract surgery, or who have been included back in to mainstream education despite a visual impairment is hugely moving and very motivating.
If supporting Sightsavers isn't enough reason to sponsor us, then surely the image of us on the 17th January, struggling around the streets of Mumbai for 5 (hopefully!) hours, with jet-lag and only each other as support is enough reason!
Thanks again for your support, and we look forward to telling you how it went!
