Shine Night Walk 2022 - 24th September 2022

With our year of fundraising soon coming to an end, on the 24th September, Jane Wood, Claire Wood, Anna Wright, Gemma Broadhurst, Androulla Elia, Caroline Bradburn, Claire Pratley, Alex Alexander & Laura Panayiotou will be wrapping up Team Katy’s fundraising efforts by walking the Shine Night Walk Half Marathon route in London.

There will be a poignant pit stop at the London Eye, which was the last place Katy visited.

Every penny raised makes a difference to families like us when faced with the unthinkable.

*UPDATE - May 2022*

St Albans Half Marathon - Sunday 12th June

One of Katy's many wishes was that I ran a half marathon (a distance I'm yet to complete) to raise money for the Isabel Hospice.

So I've roped in a number of our family and friends to join me on the day;

Sarah Peacock, Peter Knott, Jessica Knott, Gemma Broadhurst, Matt Atkinson, Emily Davies & Julia Davies

.........will all be running on what is Katy's 40th year, Isabel Hospices 40th Birthday & St Albans Half Marathon 40th Anniversary.

The family are hugely grateful for the love, support and donations we have received through the last seven months and will continue to raise funds for the charity up until Katy's birthday this year.

Huge thanks in advance xx

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

9 weeks and 3 days after her heart breaking cancer diagnosis, our lovely Katy could fight no more.

Surrounded by her family Katy passed away on Thursday 30th September at the Isabel Hospice in Welwyn Garden City. We are all, quite simply, broken by our loss.

To know Katy was to love Katy; she lit up every room she entered and leaves behind her biggest legacy, her two beautiful boys.

The courage she showed throughout her final weeks was inspirational, as was her calm acceptance of the short time she had left. Her concern was for everyone she was leaving behind.

We are so very appreciative of the outpouring of love and support we have received since her diagnosis in July. Over the coming days and weeks we will continue to draw strength from those around us, simply taking each day as it comes.

In recognition of the exceptional end of life care the Isabel Hospice provides to both patients and families, Katy's wish was to fundraise on their behalf.

*Goodbyes hurt the most, when the story wasn't finished*

Love from us all xx
