This Friday (how is it here already?!) I am joining 33 other Help the Hospices supporters to cycle the 234 miles (374km) from to to raise money for hospice care.

When I started my training earlier this year I had never even cycled in ! Now I am doing the 15 miles round trip almost every day to work. I’ve joined the gym, given up all alcohol (except red wine*) and have spent most weekends, some annual leave and even my bank holiday cycling on long routes on the South Downs (hilly!), to Windsor, Richmond, Oxford (far!) and around London. I’m still trying to get to grips with my new shoes that clip onto the pedals (scary!) and I’d love your support to help me cover those miles.

My itinerary

Day 1: to (114km/71 miles)

Day 2: to Bernay (100km/63 miles)

Day 3: Bernay to , (163km/100 miles)

The total ascent is 2865m.

Please notice that the third day is 100 miles – in one day! I’ve only so far done 70 miles in one day (to last Saturday) so there is no doubt that this will be a big challenge for me.

Most importantly hospice care is a great and much needed cause so please support me and help us achieve our vision of the very best care for everyone facing the end of life. We hope to raise £45,000 from this event so your donation, however small will definitely help.

If you aren’t convinced by all the above then it’s a four day week and pay day so please dig deep. Don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation so that we can collect 28p extra on every £1.
